When I open a new tab, it automatically loads a Yahoo search window. How can I stop this? (I use a blank page for the first tab). Thanks.

I use a blank page when starting Firefox (4.0.1). If I click on the 'plus sign' to open a new tab, the tab opens and loads a Yahoo screen. Where is the tab getting the Yahoo site information? I want each new tab to open as a blank screen. Thanks.

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

You should update to Firefox 7 as there are many known issues with Firefox 4
