I have unchecked the "remember passwords for sites" feature in Tools/Options multiple times, but Firefox keeps offering to save passwords. How can I turn it off? V. 7.0.1 running on Windows 7.

Type about:config in the address bar. Accept the warning.

In the Filter, type signon.rememberSignons

See if the value is true (for remembering) / false (for not remembering). Change it as you want just by double clicking the preference name.
