Am I able to turn off quick find?

Sometimes when I switch tabs and type something, Firefox types it in quick find rather than the field which has previously been clicked. Is it possible for quick find not to happen and nothing to occur? Because you cannot instantly get out of quick find.

You can press the ESC key to leave Quick Find.
