Improper display behavior on second screen in portrait mode?

I am using an Nvidia GeForce 9400GT graphics card with two monitors (both 1600x1200 resolution). When the second monitor is in portrait mode, the contents of the Firefox window are not drawn properly. This problem does not always occur, but when it does it persists as long as the computer is running (that is, between shutdowns). The graphics dysfunction appears when the window is moved laterally, in which case the contents do not track the window properly. This occurs whether 'Show contents while dragging' is on or off.

Try to disable hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

Thanks - when I turn off hardware acceleration the problem goes away. I'll try to get an updated driver.
