I do not want to have a default browser. Firefox is my current default browser and I want to remove it. How can I remove Firefox being my default browser, without making IE or any other as my default browser?

So if there is a link in some other application, what do you want to happen when you click it?

The default browser settings are stored in the Windows Registry. In Windows XP there was a handy dialog to change the application responsible for handling URLs, but I haven't found it in Windows 7. If you find directions for editing the settings in Vista or Windows 7, then you could try blanking out the settings for how to handle URLs. It's always a good idea to make a backup before tweaking registry settings manually.

I got a little confused about this. I can see that my question is awkward if not silly! As you say, when I click on a link in another application it must open somewhere and if I don't have a default browser it wouldn't open. Am I right? Your question " ....what do you want to happen .....", made me realize it.

Thank you for helping, Best regards
