If I have Firefox open, then open one or two other programs such as Excel or Yahoo Messengr, I cannot switch beteen them without closing down the Firefox program. This only happens with versions other than 3.6.3. I tried updating, but cannot solve this problem, so I always go back to the old old version! If Firefox isn't open, I can switch between programs fine, so the problem is with Firefox. I'm hoping it's just a setting or update. I know about Alt Tab (which doesn't always work) but I want to be able to just easily switch back and forth like with the old version. Any help with this?

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thank you! I found the culprit. If anyone else has this problem, try disabling the Extension called "Always On Top."

carolsue, you also should update immediately to Firefox 12 now that you've found the culprit, in order to stay secure.
