Upon startup, firefox runs normally for about 3-5 seconds before freezing and then crashing several seconds later. This began happening two days ago when the program crashed mid-use, and has continued since.

I tried installing older versions, but the problem persists throughout all compatible versions. At this point I cannot access anything within the program.

Sorry I didn't mention above - it also crashes the same way in safe mode, regardless of whether I get past the "continue in safe mode" window. In all cases after the program runs for a few seconds it freezes and then crashes several seconds later.

I also tried moving the plist files to generate more (as per your first link), but there were only two to start with (org.mozilla.crashreporter.plist and org.mozilla.plugincontainer.plist) and only crashreporter was regenerated when it launched after the crash. Is there somewhere I can manually replace these files from?
