After the new firefox update, my tabs keep reloading when I click on them. They dont reload every single time I click on the tab, but they no longer hold whereas before, once I loaded a webpage, the page would still be there when I open that tab unless I close out of it or exit firefox. These pages also do not reload automatically, to my knowledge (as opposed to some websites that automatically reloads itself); firefox is reloading the pages. Is there a way I can turn this off?

It is possible that you are opening Firefox, and experiencing the new Open on Demand feature. If you have multiple tabs or Windows opening with Firefox, Firefox will only open the open one until you click on another, in order to save resources and speed up opening time.

You can turn this off by going into your Firefox Options (Edit > Preferences on Mac I believe), then into the Tabs section. Uncheck "Don't Load Tabs until selected". Restart Firefox.

Additionally for app tabs you have to change the value browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand to false in about:config

My Tabs section only has the following options:

Open new windows in a new tab instead

Warn me when closing multiple tabs

Warn me when opening multiple tabs might slow down Firefox

Always show tab bar

When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately

Also, they are not app tabs.. they're just regular website tabs that I can close out of (unlike, say, a Gmail tab where one might want the tab refreshed every so often - I prefer to just refresh the tab manually) where I want to open the website once and do not want to refresh/reload the page.
