when i click on the add ons tab the page does not show correctly. There are no graphics just text. It is difficult to view the page details. If you click on a link within the page the next page opens with exactly the same problem. All other tabs and pages open and display correctly

Hi,

If you're using a theme you can try to temporarily switch to the Default theme in Tools > Add-ons > Appearance. If the problem persists, please check if this happens in Safe Mode. Safe mode disables the installed Extensions, and themes (Appearance) in Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons. Hardware acceleration is also temporarily disabled - the manual setting is Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Use hardware acceleration when available. All these settings/options/add-ons can also be individually or collectively disabled/enabled/changed in Firefox normal mode to check if an extension, theme, option or hardware acceleration is causing issues. Disabling/enabling hardware acceleration, and some types of add-ons in normal mode may require a Firefox restart.

Please also check if this happens in a new profile. If the new profile is okay, you can then Reset Firefox on the old (previous) profile via Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information.

Another possible reason could be security software restrictions. Ideally Firefox should have full/unlimited trust in the firewall/antivirus configuration. Also, if you are using a proxy, you can temporarily try No proxy in Tools (Alt + T) > Options > Advanced > Network > Settings after clearing the cache.

If you use extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) like Adblock Plus or NoScript or Flash Block that can block content then make sure that such extensions aren't blocking content.

Do you see the same if you open the Add-ons page directly?

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

Does it has the possibility to block CSS files?

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"
