I use firefox latest version (13). I tried to make changes in the profile folder (prefs files). But no success. All of my customizations such as fonts, preferences in extensions are gone and theme is reset to default. The extensions seem to reinstall again by themselves whenever I restart my computer and firefox.

This article addresses a number of approaches to the problem. The least drastic ones actually are located toward the end: How to fix preferences that won't save.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

Some security software does have virtualization features that can cause problems by protecting and restoring files in the Firefox profile folder.

I think add-ons called browser protect and Traffic light (kind of security softwares) are casing the problem. I removed them and it's ok now. But what I don't understand is I've been using them for a long time without problems. Why now?
