Firefox becomes unresponsive. It happens when I open up my yahoo mail. When I try to send an email, etc. the site freezes up and eventually completely unresponsive to any clicks including attempts to switch tabs to different sites. When I use safari or another browser, there is no problem. I have already tried troubleshooting and resetting but the problem persists. I am tempted to just switch to another browser, but all of my passwords, etc. are already saved on firefox. I would greatly appreciate any help to fix this problem.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

You can check the network.http.* prefs on the about:config page and reset all bold user set network.http prefs to the default value via the right-click context menu -> Reset.

You can also try to disable IPv6.

You can try to reset (power off/on) the router.
