I do not have a screen anymore to start a new internet address, or the google window, although I uploaded twice the newest version.

A few days ago my window at the top of the page suddenly disappeared, so now I cannot access new or quick to type in internet addresses anymore. As well, also the little google window on the right top side disappeared. To make things worse, even on another top bar were some icons, one of which looked like a house that - when klicked - got me to google. Now I have nothing but only tabs of old internet addresses to access, but not what I want, i.e. a new address that I usually just typed into the address bar.

It's possible that Firefox opened in "full screen" mode with the navigation bar hidden. You can use the F11 function key to switch between "full screen" and "normal" modes, or if you slide the mouse pointer all the way to the top of the screen the bar should pop down temporarily.

If the menu bar is missing in "normal" mode, you may be able to display it by pressing the F10 key. (On Windows, you also can press the Alt key; don't know about Mac.) Assuming this reveals a View menu, use View > Toolbars to bring back missing toolbars.

Any luck?

F11 makes everything disappear temporarily. F10 does split the screen in four and shows my webmail screen and the browser screen on one quarter each in small, but no change to the webpage appearance whatsoever. Yes, I have a Mini Mac OS 10.4.11

Full screen mode on Mac: command+Shift+F

Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible:

  • "View > Toolbars"

Open the Customize window to set which toolbar items to display:

  • View > Toolbars > Customize
  • Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
  • If missing items are in the toolbar palette then drag them back from the Customize window on the toolbar
  • If you do not see an item on a toolbar and in the toolbar palette then click the "Restore Default Set" button to restore the default toolbar set up

You need the View menu. I need a Mac. If the menu bar is completely missing, does pressing Ctrl+F2 display it?
