When I am on Flicker and viewing pictures, after time [and after many Flickr pages], fewer and fewer pictures load successfully. I just see place holders.

When I am on Flickr looking at other people's pictures, after time (and after many Flickr pages) I start to notice the pictures not downloading. I see place holders instead of pictures. What I have to do is log out of Flicker, close Firefox, open Firefox, then log on to Flickr again. This always happens.

A similar thing happens when I open Firefox to my home page. I will see text, but no graphics. This SOMETIMES happens. Whenever I go to CNET downloads, the same thing happens ALWAYS.

I use Norton Internet Security and turn it off to no avail. Please advise.

Does it work in Firefox safe mode? If so, it could be hardware acceleration or an extension causing the problem.

The problem exists in safe mode also. I am not seeing the problem when I go to the same site with Internet Explorer
