When I visit certain sites the links are broken, only with FF. Switch to IE Tab and they work fine, what do I do?

Two sites where this happens, that I visit often are mlb.com and woot.com Here are the error messages: From MLB.com - "We are sorry, but you have reached this page in error. Please try the action again and if the problem continues contact Customer Service. 404 Error - Document not found" From Woot - hmmm…we can't find that The page your browser asked for isn't on our servers. This is what we geeks call a 404 error. The link you followed may be old, or you might have mistyped the address. If you are unable to find what you're looking for write us and we'll try to help.

Thanks. Did not work. For years, my cookie settings have been as you suggested. This problem is not new. mlb.com has been this way since September if not earlier (I just don't remember the exact date). I don't go to the woot.com links very often, so I am less sure when this started for woot.com. I want to say this issue started with FF 14.0 but I do not remember for sure. I assumed I was not alone and that an update would fix it. That hasn't happened.

Any other thoughts? Anyone else? Thanks In Advance, jnogan

Check if firewall or your security software block access to specific sites.

I am using AVG Internet Security 2013. I went through the options and do not see how to block a specific site.

Also, if security software was blocking a website: 1. Why would I be able to access some links on woot.com but not all? 2. Why would it work in other browsers and when using IE Tab? 3. And why would the website itself be telling me that the link is broken it's not a generic 404 error. (See attached screen captures)

Thanks!

Delete cookies.sqlite and any cookies.sqlite-journal files in Profile folder in case cookies is corrupted.

New day, the problem has returned. Any thoughts? FF has not crashed since I deleted cookies.sqlite and any cookies.sqlite-journal . Any thoughts?

Try to create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

You can also try to reset Firefox:
