when i open a new tab, how do i ensure that it shows the new tab layout ?

while i was installing some program, it automatically changed some of my firefox settings. So, now when i open a new tab (ctrl+T), it goes to some search page, how to do i ensure that when i open a new tab, it will show me the new tab layout ?

hello sanmeet, you can either install the searchreset addon to get rid of the problem or manually reset the page that opens on each new tab: enter about:config into the firefox location bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up), search for the preference named browser.newtab.url and double-click & change its value to about:newtab.
