The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

I’m sorry. why should I resetting it when I don’t know the reason. you say it will fix the problem I don’t have that kind of problem. Deleting the stored cookies is much easier and safer than resetting dude and it will fix the problem. My question is and improved software used to be more advanced and better than the old one not to losing some abilities. The old version was so much better in storing cookies. I just want an advanced option in new Firefox.

If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Hi Cor-el. Please explain what is the result of doing that. You say if clearing cookies doesn't work clearing cookies does work but the problem is the cookies need to be delete after a few times visiting some websites it seems like it gets full as sooner as it must be. I could deleting cookies after while but I think this is serious problem with new version if it is not for everyone and it’s just for me let me know. Please tell me if I do that what you said I will get the result that I want. I just want cookies store as more as it’s possible and don’t need to be deleting in a short time like the old version. Please share me the knowledge and help me with this.

I can think of these reasons for problems with cookies:

• you may have an extension that is causing problems with the cookies
• you may have security software (firewall, anti-virus) that is causing problems with the cookies
• the cookies.sqlite file that stores cookies has become corrupted

In the case of the latter you need to remove that cookies.sqlite.
This will cause all cookies to get deleted, so if you have any cookies from websites to remember you or otherwise store configuration data on your computer then such settings are lost and you will have to revisit the sites to create new cookies.

Cor-el, I'm having the same problem (I think). Before, every website that I went to would load multiple cookies onto my computer, that really wasn't a problem, but after updating to the latest version of Firefox (19.0) I noticed that cookies aren't being saved at all no matter what website I go to (except google). I found the cookies.sqlite files you mentioned but what do I do with them and how do I try out the other 2 solutions you mentioned just in case? Thanks for your help.

Cor-el, Thanks for the speedy reply. I think I want to try deleting the cookies.sqlite files but, will Firefox create new ones when I delete the old ones? Those files are important, aren't they? Also, are there any other files that might be causing this problem? Thanks again.

Yes, Firefox will create new SQLite database files if you remove the existing files.

Cor-el, Deleting the cookies.sqlite file didn't help. I also tried disabling my extensions (I only had one enabled), and addons, both were unsuccessful. Earlier you said firewalls and anti-virus programs might cause a problem. What should I do about that? Is it possible that I'm being spyed on by someone? Thanks so much for all your help.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Cor-el, I hope you won't be too upset with me but, I just realized that turning off Private Browsing mode "solves" the problem. X ( In the previous version of Firefox, cookies would still load onto my computer as I browsed the web even while I was in Private Browsing mode, I assumed this was normal. But after updating to 19.0, no cookies (except google) will load up no matter what site I go to. Is this normal? You've been so much more than patient. Thanks x1000.
