How to change default audio output for firefox
So I am trying to set the default audio output for firefox. Instead of using the Windows default I instead wish to set it myself. The reason I am doing this is because I want to listen to music from my browser while playing a video game. I wish for the music to go through my speakers, while the game audio run through my headset. In order to accomplish this I need to set the default audio device for firefox to not use the windows default. I can not find the setting to do this. Also another possible solution could be to trick windows into thinking that firefox is a communication device so that i can set two different defaults

Maybe the following add-on will do:
You could also browse through GreaseMonkey/scriptish scripts for a solution
Let us know if it helped.
PS: any special reason, you are sticking to Firefox 18? You are missing some nice features, not to mention possible security problems.
I'm not too sure wildfox audio is the answer, from what I can see. As for the version, I was using Waterfox (a 64 bit variant), but it seems that work has stopped on that, so I just upgraded to back to normal firefox
I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION :
This is a new Firefox addon waiting to be reviewed developed by a friend of mine:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/chaudev/
I have waited this for years.
I wanted to use this when my wife is seeing youtube on her chrome and me seeing anything like coursera online MOOC lectures (FF) on the TV which is connected to the pc. I wanted to hear my classes on the headset and my wife on the speakers for youtube.
I have 2 mouses (one for me wireless) and have installed a neat program which called teamplayer which gives multiple cursors (each cursor for each mouse).
So I have now literally the capability of working 2 persons on 1 pc.
And on top of that it works seamlessly with "Enounce Myspeed" for speeding up the video lectures' playback.

When I try to go to your link, it just fails. Is there a typo?
Mozilla is reviewing the addon currently. If you are interested in the addon to install it at your own risk before it is approved by mozilla, I have uploaded it on: http://www.4shared.com/file/ixgwN8un/Audio_changer_working_with_mys.html

When do you think it we be done being reviewed?
Unfortunately it has been rejected due to the need to change the media DLL to make it work to change the audio device output .
However, I trust the guy and it works on my win xp like a charm.
As I said, if you need it desperately you can install it at your own risk from my link. BUT I cannot guarantee anything , and it is at your own risk.
