Where have my 700+ bookmarks gone? Once I recreate a bookmark file, what is it's file name and where is it so that I can back it up?

hello, go to firefox > bookmarks > import & restore > restore - there should be 10 automatic daily backups available, you can restore from.

If you ever have reset Firefox then you may still have an "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop.

You can also check for problems with the places.sqlite database file in the Firefox profile folder.
