Basically as above. I play a youtube video, the video will freeze, though the audio continues. If i press play/pause, the picture on the video updates to whatever image is being shown at that time, yet remains stuck at that image whilst the audio continues. Worth noting is that at seems, in some cases to coincide with the comment section being loaded. If i do not scroll down and remain centered on the video itself, thus preventing the comments being loaded there would appear to be a lower chance of this occurring. Quite frustrating.

Recent malfunctions of certain multimedia contents (this includes Youtube videos, certain flash games and other applications) in conjunction with Firefox are most probably caused by a recent Flash update and/or a malfunctioning browser plugin such as Real Player or Quicktime.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
