when i'm going on this page :

https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/search/?q=startpage&appver=25.0&platform=windows

the first result should be " Startpage (SSL) " because its the most pertinant and downloaded module (2500+ downloads a week), instead of putting on top " Startpage site search " whose only have 2500 users.

is it because of firefox's partnership with google or something ? I just don't get it.

Hello pedro52,

Thanks for contacting Mozilla Support. I've asked the addons group about this and they tell me that it's the sorting algorithm on the site that is making the decisions on what to display. There are no deals or partnerships that influence the sorting.

If you have other questions for the Addons group they can be found at #amo on irc.mozilla.org.

Please let us know if this solves your problem.

Cheers, Patrick
