Can't download update for adobe Shockwave for Director.
Firefox just updated itself to version 26. When I check my plugins, it tells me that the Shockwave for Director plugin is out of date. It says it is Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 11.5. There is a red button that says Update Now. I click the Update Now button and it takes me to http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/. The page says Step: 1 of 3, and it has a little yellow button "Download Now" that takes me to Step: 2 of 3 at http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/download/?installer=Shockwave_12.0.7.148_Windows_Slim_Other_Browsers&standalone=1. But this page does not function correctly unless the plugin is already updated. A dialog box pops up that says --This page contains a new Shockwave format movie that the current Shockwave plug-in cannot handle. Would you like to download the newer version of the plugin? [ Yes ] [ No ] After a couple of seconds a little yellow "Next" button appears on the page, but I have to click Yes or No in the dialog box before I can select anything else. If I click [ Yes ], it takes me back to Step: 1 of 3 at http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/. If I click [ No ], then the dialog box disappears, but there is still no content on the page, just the yellow "Next" button. It looks like there should be some other content that doesn't show up with an outdated Shockwave player. If I click the "Next," it takes me to a page Step: 3 of 3 at http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/thankyou/?installer=Shockwave_12.0.7.148_Windows_Slim_Other_Browsers. A little box pops up for a few seconds that says "Thank you and enjoy Adobe Shockwave Player," but it doesn't download anything and it still looks like there should be more content there that doesn't show up. No matter what I do, it seems there is no way to actually download the updated version, and when I go back to the Check Updates page, it still shows the same old version with the red "Update Now" box.
Should I try uninstalling Shockwave for Director first? I would have tried already, but I was also having trouble finding instructions for how to uninstall it.

Not necessarily, but that could eliminate some potential problems, so I do recommend it.
- Go to http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp
- Save the Shockwave Player Uninstaller somewhere handy, like the desktop.
- Save the Full Installer for Netscape¹. If you plan on using Shockwave for Director in Internet Explorer as well, also save the Full Installer for Internet Explorer/AOL¹.
- Exit all browsers.
- Run the uninstaller.
- Once the uninstallation has completed, run the full installer for Netscape.
- Once the installation for Netscape has completed, run the full installer for Internet Explorer.
¹ Although the links on the page currently say "Shockwave Player 11", they point to the latest version, which at the moment is 12.0.7.148.
