I am using DynamicPDF to render a PDF. There are multiple check boxes which are checked. When the PDF is opened in Firefox, none of the check boxes are checked. However, when I save the PDF and open with Adobe, check boxes are checked. There might be a problem with the Firefox built in PDF viewer as the built in PDF viewer for other browsers work fine.

Are you able to read the PDF file with ADOBE ? If not, then try to install a different PDF. If you can read it then do you need to use DynamicPDF at all ????

I am able to read the PDF file with Adobe and built in PDF viewer both but in built in PDF viewer the check boxes are not checked. The check boxes are checked only in Adobe. The PDF is created and checked using DynamicPDF.

If you need DynamicPDF are you able to read the files with that bplug in or software???? you say you are able to read the files with Adobe. Does it matter that boxes are checked or not??? what is important is that you can read the files. Usually as far as i have ever seen, you check boxes to include more formats to read

Actually, I create the PDF using dotnet code and DynamicPDF for dotnet. In that PDF there is a questionnaire section where there are four check boxes for question. The correct check box is ticked (or checked) using the dotnet code. The use of DynamicPDF ends here. This is for dotnet coding not for browser. I send the PDF from my website to the browser. When I open the PDF using the built in PDF viewer everything is there except the check boxes are not ticked. However when I save the PDF and open with Adobe, the check boxes are ticked. DynamicPDF is for creating PDFs using dotnet code. The check boxes are created and ticked using the dotnet code only.

Current Firefox versions have enabled a built-in PDF Viewer that doesn't have all features that other PDF readers like the Adobe Reader have or may not function properly otherwise.

You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use another application like the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications".

You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the about:config page to disable the build-in PDF viewer.

You can check the value of the plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types pref on the about:config page and remove the application/pdf part if present or reset the pref to the default via the right-click context menu if you want to display PDF documents in Firefox with another application (i.e. not the built-in PDF Viewer).

sanket.raj,

If you are looking for a solution for other Firefox users who will be downloading and viewing your PDF files, where you don't have control over the PDF viewer being used, file a Bug to let the Mozilla developers know about that issue, or deficiency.

The latest stable version of the built-in PDF viewer is available as an extension and with some PDF files performs better than the version shipped with the current Firefox release.

You can find the latest version of the PDF Viewer (pdfjs) extension here:
