My laptop went dead. I would like to take files from a backup done a few months ago on the laptop -- and put them on an upgraded windows 7 computer. I only want a few files and my tax folder to be on the windows 7 computer ( from the laptop ). I do not know what would happen if the laptop backup C D was placed in the windows 7 computer.

The Firefox profile folder is in /Appdata/Roaming/

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
  • %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\

The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Vista/Windows 7+ are hidden folders.

Thanks for the info --- This tells me what I am up against. I think i will wait to see if the laptop can be fixed . Thanks again
