why do I have to keep loging on every few minutes on public forum sites
After signing on to some public forum sites I'm told to refresh the page and log on again when trying to post or answer a post. And then I only get a few minutes to submit something before the message comes up again to refresh and log on. This doesn't happen on all sites.

Hello,
Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:
- Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
- Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
- Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
- From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
- Now click the Clear now button.
Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.
Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!
Thank you.
Done that often. No result. I have also done a removal of everything Firefox and Internet explorer, done a download of Internet Explorer through the MS start menu link, made that my default and then did a download of Firefox from there, changing my default back to Firefox. I then installed all my add-ons .
I saved nothing from the old version of Firefox.
All this was necessary after doing a Firefox reload, in an effort to correct slowness and hanging, wrecked everything. It made the computer completely unstable. It works fine now, loads Firefox/Google start page in 12sec, [used to be anything from 30+ secs] search result is instant, couldn't be better. But my original problem still remains, some often visited forum sites require me to keep logging on if I wish to post/answer. Facebook works fine, but I hardly ever go there, if at all. I run Viper security program which is excellent, and have a speed of 100 Mbps.
You can also check the connection settings.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > Network : Connection > Settings
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Options+window+-+Advanced+panel
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.
See "Firefox connection settings":
Selecting "No Proxy" certainly sped up the search and load speed. Fantastic. However I checked all my add on bits and Adobe flash was marked as "always ask to enable" although I never have been asked. The sites which are giving me the log on issues now display a window asking me to allow them to turn on Adobe Flash, did that, and from then on I had no trouble maintaining my sign in. The Adobe window came up on each Home/forum/ page and required a click each time to activate, but I stayed logged in. I believe this Adobe Flash was the original cause of all my computer's problems. So i did a removal and install and again another install when I downloaded Firefox, but it didn't improve things. I'm reluctant to turn this feature back on, so until a sure fix comes along I can live with the way my Firefox is working.
