Running mac 0S X 7.5, firefox has recently been updated 27.0.1 I have parental controls in place on my child's account on the mac. When that account is running and attempt to open firefox a dialog box appears saying the account does not have permission to run firefox software update.

Even if I (root/ parental user) choose the option in the dialog box to always allow access and properly enter my password, when I again click on firefox to launch I get the same message.

Note that the current Firefox release is Firefox 28.0

You can find the full version of the current Firefox 28.0 release in all languages and for all Operating Systems here:

If files to update Firefox have already been downloaded then you may have to remove them in the updated or updates folder in the Firefox application folder.
