Usually if something is adding itself to the toolbar, it's an extension. You can review / disable / remove extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Can you find the one you want to get rid of?

If the Remove button is missing, then usually it is effective to remove through the Windows Control Panel, Uninstall a Program. If the extension was left stranded, we may need to hunt it down on the hard drive and remove it. But at least you can disable it for now.

Any luck?
