Why does trash only show the last day of deleted e-mails?

I delete a message and send it to Trash. Sometimes all deleted message show up in Trash, but more than often only the last 2 days of deleted messages are displayed in Trash.

Tools menu (Alt+T) > Account settings > server settings.

What are the retention settings for deleted messages.

Under Server Settings When I delete a message, Move it to this folder - Trash

Under Advanced button For account" dewars@cox.net" IMAP Server directory - box is blank Show only subscribed folders - box checked Server supports........ box checked Use IDLE command......box checked

Maximum number of server......10 These preferences specify............ Personal messages - blank Public (shared) - blank Other Users - blank

Allow server to override.........box checked
