I will never run Windows 8 because of the user interface, Now that Firefox had been made to look like a Windows 8.... I want to know if there is anyway to change to user interface back to what Firefox 28 had?

Don't despair. Many months of work have gone into an add-on for Firefox 29 called Classic Theme Restorer. You can get the most up-to-date internals and still make it look like the Firefox of recent years, or mix and match. More info: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/classicthemerestorer/

The addon improves a few thing but no where near enough for me. even with the addon there are still too many metro UI elements remaining.

It would be nice is software companies would not just jump on the lastest version of windows for interface design. I would rather use a 4 year old version of Linux over anything that resembles Metro UI.

Metro elements? Are you sure you're talking about the new Firefox 29 UI Australis?

Can you give me a screenshot so I know what you're seeing? Please see How do I create a screenshot of my problem? to create a screenshot

I don't know what this "Australis" is. Guess I need to look it up.

All the icons appear to be based on windows 8's Metro UI and plenty of area look like they are straight out of Windows 8.

The area I see the most right now is. See screenshot.

I said above would rather use a 4 year old version of Linux over Windows 8. let me change that. I would rather use Windows 3.1 Over Windows 8.

EDIT Yes I mean this Australis BS. I have also uninstalled Firefox 29 and gone to a read only portable version of 28 where I will stay until I find a non-metroui browser.

"Australis" was the internal code name for Firefox's new UI (the one you see in 29) I've just become accustomed to saying it after these past few weeks.

Actually, that's not Windows 8 icons.

The interface you see in Firefox 29 (literally everything is new. New icons) is a major re-design (first one since Firefox 4) of Firefox's user interface called "Australis."

There isn't anything wrong with Firefox 29. That's just the way it looks now.

If you really hate the icons that bad, you can download 28 at your discretion. Please however remember that puts your System and personal data at an increased risk. You may then wish to mitigate that by having well rehearsed bare metal restore strategies or using a virtual machine.

I won't post the link here since I'd be telling you to downgrade a future unsupported version and because it's easily searchable.

The problem with having too many extensions/add-ons/whatever they are called now is that it makes thing hard to find.

IF there is or is not something wrong with the way a program look is up to the person using the program. That said I find it to be wrong. The first person to respond was helpful so far Moses you have not been.

I am going to mark this as solved, but it is not.
