Using Windows 7, Thunderbird 31.0. Cannot move any mail. Delete mail will not work, junk mail will not move to junk folder, cannot move messages to subfolders. Have POP account set up. Have tried compressing folders and that did not help. Hitting delete key will not delete, selecting delete or move with right click does not work. Junk mail is identified but stays in inbox (yes it is set to move to junk automatically) This issue has occurred before but could always resolve my shutting down and rebooting into thunderbird. That approach no longer works. Thannks

have you tried setting an exclusion in your anti virus program so Thunderbirds profile folder is not aggressively scanned, just when your using it.

I Anti virus programs used to scan documents and programs by default. In recent times that appears to have changed and they scan everything now, to the detriment of actually getting work done.

McAfee in particular needs to be told to only scan programs and documents.
