Chosen solution

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

The current Firefox releases 32 and later use a new cache service named Cache2. This change will cause extensions that use the old cache service to stop working and its developer needs to update the extension. You can check the Add-ons website to see if there is already a version available that is possibly not approved yet.

If you want to revert to the previously used cache for now then you can toggle this pref to false on the about:config page.

  • browser.cache.use_new_backend_temp = false

Thanks for the reply. I have tried cacheviewer2 and I am not impressed, it is slow and freezes when trying to save files. I much prefer the old version.

I cannot seem to find the config page so I cannot try the second option.

Best regards Neil
