Yahoo toolbar updated and provides Welcome tab with info on how to use toolbar. But there is no obvious way to turn the tab off or delete it.

Hello,

First check your home page settings:

  • Tools (or New Fx Menu) > Options > General

If that is fine, does the Yahoo toolbar have any options? Try going to the about:addons page and the Extensions tab, or:

  • Tools (or [[Image: New Fx Menu]) > Add-ons > Extensions

Is there an Options button for the Yahoo toolbar? if so, see if there is an option to change that.

You can also see if your Firefox shortcut has been modified: right click on your Firefox shortcut and select Properties. Check the target line under the Shortcut tab to make sure there is no link after the "firefox.exe".

Also, see the article How to fix preferences that won't save in case there is relevant information to you. Sometimes antivirus software can prevent preferences from being changed. A user.js file could also be the culprit, and the steps to fixing these problems are in the article.
