Okay my parents have a thunderbird email account with Mozilla and that's it. They recently got iPhones and I'm trying to add their email addresses to their phones but it needs a password and according to their Mozilla account (tools>options>security>passwords) they don't have a password. Thunderbird will not allow me to set up or "change the master password" either, I would assume because they don't actually have an account with Mozilla. I really just need help

Who is the Email-service provider? Tbird is a program, an email-client not an email server. Neither is Mozilla Look at Account and account settings Incoming /outgoing servers If you cant find a saved password they just might enter it each time.

The master password is supposed to protect account passwords Thunderbird was told to remember. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Master_password
