Trying to bring up a OptiPlex 755, Windows 7. I can get IE to work ok, but after downloading Firefox, it will not come up when I click on icon.....gives me a message that says I'm missing an element. I'm about ready to abandon Firefox, and I hate to because I've enjoyed using it for years. Could use your help.

hello windeagleman, what's the exact wording of the error message when you launch firefox?

After downloading Firefox, when I click on the icon it says, "profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." I CAN open IE, but have always preferred Firefox. Thanks for the help on this, Philipp

Try completely deleting your Firefox profile (WARNING: Will delete any existing bookmarks and customizations in Firefox):

1. Close Firefox (this step really isn't necessary in your case, but whatever). 2. Open the Run dialog. Hit the Windows Key + R on your keyboard. 3. Open the Firefox Appdata directory. In the Run dialog, type %appdata%/mozilla/firefox and click the "OK" button. (a Windows Explorer window will open) 3. In the Windows Explorer window, right click the profiles.ini file and click "Delete". 4. Next, double click the "Profiles" folder. 5. Finally, delete everything in the Profiles folder.
