New version 38 unusable, constantly crashes within a minute of restarting

Updated to latest version 38 and firefox unuseable, contantly crashes. Disabled all add-ons etc but still crashes. No malware or viruses etc etc. Never had this issue this bad with Firefox. Another friend had the same issue. Did a system restore to before the update and all ok again. Version 38 has a serious issue so won't be updating again till next new version.

Tuesday's release of 38.0 had startup crash problems with certain Nvidia graphics hardware/device drivers. Version 38.0.1 was released Thursday to correct that.

If you had crashes with 38.0.1:

When Firefox crashes, it usually records information about what was happening at that moment. You often will see the Mozilla Crash Reporter dialog come up. You can submit that data to Mozilla and share it with forum volunteers to see whether it points to the solution. Please check the last section of the support article "Firefox Crashes" for steps to get those crash IDs, and then post some of the recent ones here.

Hopefully then we can track down the cause of the problem.
