This problem has been around forever but it seems to have been happening more and more. I live a life constantly restarting firefox because it eats a ton of ram.

It does this on multiple computers. My computers are not shabby either. Right now i am running a fast i5 processor, new SSD drive and 32gigs of ram.

I typically have about 4-5 instances of Firefox running with around 10-20 total tabs open. Usually articles and stuff. And over the course of the day my firefox jumps to over 2gigs ram and starts to bog down my CPU and i have to close it a few times. - My only addons right now are All in one gestures at work and firegestures at home. - I have had clean installs and clean profiles - I have done some of the troubleshooting tips. I am an IT guy

Any idea what i can do to somehow have firefox release its memory. I think it crashed on me today while using Amazon.
