Please use Firefox 38, neither 17 nor 24 are supported anymore.

Firefox from mozilla.org and the portable Firefox by default installs in separate places and should not touch the other.

When I install the portable version in a separate partition it automatically checks for extension updates and the installed version lose settings and extensions. The two versions are on separate partitions with two profiles as shown in the support site. Is there any solution for this problem. Which portable firefox version that runs with firefox 38. Best Regards,

Firefox Portable isn't capable of using the Profile from a genuine Firefox installation. The "Portable" version has its Profile in the Program Files folderset.
