Last night, when Firefox crashed, I got the "Refresh Firefox" prompt for the first time ever. I clicked on it and re-installed or re-activated my add-ons. (Norton 360, NoScript and Ad Block Plus). However, when I try to access my bookmarks, I get the following error message asking me to continue, debug or stop the script

chrome://browser/content/places/browserPlacesViews.js:271

It shows up whenever I try to access my bookmarks. They become accessible shortly afterward, but the error message shows up every time. I have done an un-install and re-install as well as removed the add-ons except for Norton 360,, but it hasn't fixed the problem. Could my bookmarks have become corrupted? I made a backup the day before. if so, Is there a way to completely remove Firefox and do a clean install and/or replace the bookmarks with the backup copy.

This depends how the back up was made. If its a json back up it shoud lbe able to restore them to the date from the same menu they were backed up: Show All Bookmarks > Two arrows in a circle icon > Import backup

The other way was to import them via html file. This is also in that same menu listed above. Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer

I would just recommend making a back up before making changes.

That line in the script

   let cc = resultNode.childCount;

It is setting the count of total bookmarks. If it crashes, I would agree with you to expect corruption. Another option is: Places Maintenance
