Why can't I mouse-over a hyperlink within an email and reveal the hyperlink's source - I thought previous versions had this?

I am grateful to you for looking at this question. I used to be able to run my mouse over a website hyperlink with an email, and the hyperlink's source would be revealed to me so that I could make sure it was not a bogus or deceptive link, but I can't achieve that now. Otherwise the link calls up the browser normally, but it is always a good idea to check the actual source first. Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? In any case, thank you! Nick

Zenos, you are a star. Thank you! Rhetorical question for self: would it have been logical for me to think the solution would be found in the Status Bar?
