Are Live Bookmarks no longer supported in 42.0 and 43.0b1?

After updating to 42.0 - as well as 43.0b1 - the Live Bookmarks are not loading any more. As if every feed was empty. I tried to reinstall the browser, but the only way to get my feeds to update back again was downgrading to 41.0 (and switching the auto-update off). What happened? Are Live Bookmarks no longer supported? Thought it's the best reason for me to use Firefox in the first place. (Plus, earlier on, I had to switch syncing of the Bookmarks in the Firefox Sync off because the syncing process rearranged all the folders with live bookmarks randomly. And ever since then, I didn't want to risk and check if this one is fixed yet...)

Live Feeds should still be working.

Did you try to reload the feed via the right-click context menu?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Thank you. I already tried this. After double-checking though, with all extensions disabled, hardware acceleration unchecked, as well as in the safe mode - all the same as before: all feeds show as "(Empty)". And the "Reload Live Bookmark" option is not active. Oh and guess what, I also checked it on another computer, with different installation. Same in there. Gotta downgrade back again to 41.0.

No problems here with live feeds in Firefox 42.

Did you try to create a new feed? Does the feed page show if you open the above posted link?

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in current Firefox releases.

Alright, after a system re-install (Windows 7 upgraded to Windows 10), I'm pretty sure I'm safe to say we have a bug here. After the first launch in the clean slate, the browser imports all the bookmarks normally and I thought I'm home already. I use Xmarks, as Firefox Sync continues to spoil live bookmarks (tested). Unfortunately, the first relaunch of the browser proved there's however something wrong with the browser itself. All the feeds have switched off again, showing: (Empty). I'd appreciate if you put the ticket in a right bug-submitting channel for me. Thank you.

I have the same problem with FF43. I have live RSS newsfeeds from the NY Times. Live bookmarks no longer load every hour and haven't since the update. I tried a manual reload, sometimes works, other times doesn't.

You always need to reload Live RSS feeds manually. Firefox doesn't do this automatically for quite some time.

That's just not true, they were loading automatically until two weeks ago. And now some of them won't even update manually.
