Have been using TB for years and recently has a hard drive crash. Fortunately had a current back up to external Seagate drive. Did the restore but contacts and archives did not. I'm not certain that the backup had captured these (they are stored in hidden files). Enabled viewing of hidden files. Couldn't find any hidden files on the backup files of the external drive. Note: I had changed the location of archives to Local Folders.

Did you backup the entire Thunderbird profile from the old drive?

The profile is what you'd need to restore.

What did you do after reinstalling Thunderbird?
