1. I've been using WordWeb for years, and now I see it is not listed as an available add-on, although after updating it on my PC, it does work within Firefox even though it is not listed as one of my add-ons.

2. Recently, after updating Firefox (NOT ESR) I saw the message that LastPass would not be supported at some point in the future.

3. #s 1 and 2 above are the reason I switched to ESR - because the add-ons are the reason I have loved Firefox for years.

4. Will you continue to continue to eliminate certain add-ons as supported tools??????

5. YOU SHOULD KNOW THAT IF YOU ELIMINATE SUPPORT FOR MY FAVORITE ADD-ONS, IN PARTICULAR LASTPASS, I WILL DROP FIREFOX AND ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO DO SO TOO. There is no excuse for ceasing to support the very reason your users like your browser. It is not up to us to verify our add-ons' safety. IT IS UP TO YOU!!! YOU ARE THE ONES WHO ENCOURAGED US - NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

6. I would really appreciate a thoughtful response.

I would add that it is up to you Mozilla, to contact the publishers of the add-ons to upgrade their safety, or up to you to take over development of the add-on THAT HAS BECOME PART OF YOUR BROWSER. YOU ASKED FOR IT by making add-ons your trademark so to speak.

Dude, the people who volunteer their time here to provide support for Firefox, especially on a weekend like this, are other Firefox users like you. We don't need "attitude" like you presented here. If you want support, please ask for it - like maybe nicely, without screaming at us.

If your intent is to get a point across the the Firefox developers or to the management of Mozilla, you may provide feedback to them here: https://input.mozilla.org/en-US/feedback Basically, Mozilla has "metrics" that show them that few users even install any add-ons, which means that add-ons aren't as important as you (and I) think they are to our usage of Firefox, and surely not a "trademark" of Firefox. I am using Firefox ESR 38 until July, and probably switching to SeaMonkey after that. I ain't gonna give up my 25 extensions.

In closing, many of who come here to help fellow Firefox users feel pretty much the same as you do. We use Firefox specifically because it is so damn user configurable and due to the wide availability of all types of add-ons. But we have to face the facts, the Firefox we have enjoyed in the past may not be the same in future versions of Firefox. Many Add-on developers are not going to want to completely re-write their add-ons and will probably just go away due the massive changes that have come recently [this "signing" thing "killed" at least 3 long time extension developers that I know of due to my use of their extensions for at least 10 years now] and massive changes to Firefox will continue thru 2016. But on the positive side, WebExtensions [?--mid-summer--?] may bring a whole new group of add-on developers to Firefox and Mozilla. "So there might be light at the end of the tunnel".

It is not the Firefox browser supporting the extensions but what version of Firefox Releases the Extensions authors support.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/lastpass-password-manager/versions/

You may have a old version of Lastpass if it is not working in Firefox 44.0.2

For Wordweb one source mentioned https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/one-click-popup-dictionary/ ?

To the-edmeister - Thanks very much for your reply. I apologize for the bad attitude. I didn't realize that this isn't the place to voice a gripe and I do thank you for the feedback link. I think your last paragraph is right-on. Just before I submitted my rant, I switched back to ESR like you and many others. And thanks for the heads-up about SeaMonkey and WebExtensions. I use LastPass all day long as a freelance graphic designer and for several other reasons and I can't live without that and Firefox's many other tools.

To james - Thank you for the two links. They are valuable because I don't like the latest version of LastPass. It requires too much scrolling and who knows if WordWeb will cease and I might need the One Click Popup Dictionary.
