Didn't you receive instructions from Verizon?

The answer seems to be 'with difficulty'. Your problem is that Verizon mail only offers a POP service and has no facility to export saved messages. That's according to this article: https://bethesdapcrepair.wordpress.com/2015/04/01/moving-from-verizon-webmail/ A POP service only allows messages to be downloaded to an email client like Thunderbird via the Inbox. Consequently, if you have saved folders A, B and C on the Verizon server, you would need to: 1. Open TBird and create empty folders A, B and C 2. In TBird, move all messages from the Inbox to another folder 3. In Verizon webmail, remove all messages from the Inbox 4. In Verizon webmail, move the contents of folder A to the Inbox 5. In Tbird, download all messages (the contents of folder A) to the Inbox 6. In Tbird, move all messages from the Inbox to folder A 7. Repeat steps 3-6 for folders B and C (The same procedure is described in the article referenced above.) Frankly, if you like to keep your email organised in a number of folders you'd be better off with an IMAP service: you can create and modify folders at will and a copy of them is kept on the server.
