Firefox not simply crashed but blocked my computer, so I had to make a force restart. I erased Firefox and made a clean setup. After that it did not start at all. The same happened to my colleague on a different machine with different OS. So good bye for all. I used to love mozilla.

If your computer blocks then there is a problem with a system driver or other (security) software that runs on your computer. A program that runs art user level isn't able to block the computer, only a program that runs at kernel level can do this.

Make sure that all above mentioned software is up-to-date.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe Mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen or hold down the Shift key) to see if that has effect.
