I always used firefox for browsing and my email connection. Since doing Firefox update approx one week ago every time I sign into my Yahoomail account I keep getting a verification request, to be sent by sms, which used to do this once after clearing history and cookies. This costs me 15 cents every time, particularly if I need to check multiple times per day. Internet Explorer does not do this. What has happened?

It is possible that there is a problem with the cookies or cookies are blocked.

Try to clear the Cache and remove the Cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the Cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
