keep getting script error messages messages and Firefox not responding
For some time I've had the problem of Firefox responding very slowly, and I keep getting script error messages and the browser reacting very slowly. I also keep getting the message: Firefox not responding in the address bar. When I look at the internet options link, I see various options. But, not sure what to do, and what changes to make, if any. I also have the problem of, after I start up my computer and I am in a web site, (could any any web site) the computer looks up. I just see my desk top start up screen appear for about 1-2 minutes, and then after that time, the computer returns to the web site. Very strange! What is going on about that? Can someone help? Thank you.

hello, could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...
Hi Philipp, Thank you for your reply. I wasn't sure how to accomplish the process of copying all the data from the trouble shooting page, but this is the format I came up with. If there is a better way to present this info to you Philipp, please let me know. The info seems rather lengthy and confusing to me, but I suspect it may help you, hopefully so? Please examine the data and let me know what you think, Philipp. If there is something missing I didn't copy, please advice. Thank you for your help, Philipp, it is appreciated. thanks, nothing totally obvious that would cause those problem is apparent from that data. however you could try updating your graphics driver which can likely get you some performance gains: https://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy3&os=Windows+7+-+64 in addition you could try to enable tracking protection in firefox which will block some advertisements and give you faster page load times: enter about:config into the firefox address bar (confirm the info message in case it shows up) & search for the preference named privacy.trackingprotection.enabled. double-click it and change its value to true.
Hi Philipp, thank you for your reply. I did make the change you suggested about the privacy tracking setting, and marking it true. But, being I'm not sure about what update I need for my graphics driver, I went to the AMD help forum to try and find out what update is needed. I will wait for their reply and see what that brings. Unless you have a suggestion, Philipp as to what specific update my system may needs. From what I can tell, my computer has a AMD E300 driver and a Radeon HD graphics 1.30 GHZ . Don't know what that means, but hopefully they need a update and it may increase the performance of my computer. Thank you, Philipp, and I will let you know how things go.
hi, the link i've provided in my prior reply should be the right driver update (catalyst suite 15.7.1) for your configuration already.
Hi Philipp, I can see already that changing the privacy tracking protection enabled from false to true has helped eliminate some of the ads on the web sites, and therefore improved speed. Thank you. I also noticed that the tracking protection ui. enabled was false, and the privacy user Context enabled was also false. Should those also be true? As a matter of fact Philipp, viewing all those categories within the list of about config., I noticed that it is possible to customize those settings. I don't know if you looked at all those categories and there settings, but are there other settings I can change to improve my computers performance? I see your suggestion of (catalyst suite 15.7.1) for the driver update. I believe I saw that option among the various options available. I will look that up again. It will be interesting if you notice other changes I can make with the about: config list. Thank you Philipp, your help and patience is appreciated.
