Firefox starts up great, fast at the beginning, then really slows down to the point that another browser can load the same page whilst Firefox is still loading.
When I start up the computer firefox will run pretty good, fast and my favourites load quickly as well as web pages. Then after some time firefox really slows down to the point where other browsers will load the page whilst Firefox is still trying. I have tried all the recommended solutions, ie refresh, clear cache, add-ons, etc. I have even uninstalled and then re-installed but keep getting this issue. Can you advise what has to be done to have firefox work fast all the time. ThanQ and regards - Joe -

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh).
Is the problem still there?

Tried safe mode previously and tried it again. Works fine at the beginning but then I get the same issue of firefox being really slow. To give you an idea when I first start the browser it takes a few seconds, my desktop is i7, to load the home page, google, then when I click on my favourites the list pops up quickly with all the icons for the webpages. After I exit firefox and wait until it closes and then re-open firefox, the home page is slow to load, when it finally loads and I click on to my favourites they appear but the icons take some time to populate. After that everything is slow causing me to abort firefox and use another browser.
Hi try to disable all the add-ons restart and check if its still slow if its not slow enable the add-ons one by one restartimg FF for every add-on because it might be some add-on issue if you disable all the add-ons and the problem persists might be a good idea to try and reinstall FF from scratch i had recently a problem with the youtube comments and i found out that it was an add-on issue the simple youtube html5 video player add-on when enabled it wont load any comments neither expands the share bar
Start your Computer in safe mode with networking. Then start Firefox. Try Safe websites. Is the problem still there?
