Yes Firefox supports javascript, in fact it is now not as easy to turn it off as it once was. Many websites only work properly if Javascript is supported.

On this support site if you turn off or block javascript then amongst other things the formatting icons will disapear from the post reply box where you type the replies you post. You will lose the option to click on the [B] icon to get bold text.
