I'm getting this 'unresponsive script error' in both Thunderbird and Firefox. The error occurs with various script errors, that are not repetitive but do seem to be consistent. There is one other report of one of these errors. The display will go dark for up to a minute and then the error occurs. I would sure like to fix the problem, I think it just generally slows down Thunderbird and Firefox.;

Thanks Chris the link was informative. About the same I found your link this morn I also got msf from Firefox to restart an update had been downloaded. When I restarted I then had 51.0.1 (64-bit) Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu Canonical -1.0 intersting. When going thru the link I found tip to try of extending DOM time out to set it from 5 to 10. I did that kind of but found that it was already 10 so stepped it up to 15. I haven't retarted yet and I have had no non-responsive time out errors. UMmh.

I didn't change 'dom.max_script_run_time' from the 10 that was in the latest update..
