The Cancel option on the prompt for a master word does not always work. It never works once I enter my user name to log in to a site. Then, the only way to get out of the master password prompt is to enter the correct master password. If you click Cancel, the prompt stays, and NOTHING, read that, NOTHING WHATSOEVER, can be done in Firefox. The only way to get out of that prompt (other than with by entering the correct master password) is to end Firefox in Task Manager (Windows 10, PC). I use the master word often, and do not want to delete it. But I don't use it all the time. Sometimes, I want to just enter my password on a site. And if guest is using my PC, I do not want to enter the master password. I SHOULD BE ABLE TO ACCESS A WEB SITE WITHOUT HAVING TO ENTER A MASTER PASSWORD. That should be what the Cancel button on the master password prompt does. For goddness sake, if I forget the master password, it becomes necessary to end Firefox in Task Manager to do anything,. Firefox is frozen on that prompt. I'm about to delete Firefox and use Chrome instead. Can you please fix this?

You should be able to close this dialog with cancel or ESC.

I have a PrefBar button to quickly toggle signon.rememberSignons true/false if I do not want to use the Password Manager (all Bugzilla pages have a login form).
