when someone sends me a photo as an attachment I see it listed on my email but when I try to open it there is no content. It says it is "empty" and I should contact the sender to see why. The sender says there is no problem with others who receive it. What should I do? Thanks.

If you logon to your webmail account using a browser, is the email still on server ? If yes, can you open the image attachment ok?

If image is ok when viewed via webmail account, in Thunderbird, check which program you have selected to auto open images of that type eg: jpg 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > Attachments' > 'Incoming ' tab example: Under 'Content Type' I have 'JPG file' with Action: 'use Windows Live Gallery (default)' see image below
